How to find Schrader's Windward Country Inn!

Schrader's Country Inn is just a short drive from Honolulu International Airport, and yet a world away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and Waikiki Beach.

Kaneohe is located on the Windward side of the Island of Oahu. We're about 17 miles from Waikiki and just 18 miles from Honolulu International Airport.

The Island of Oahu is defined by the Koolau Mountain range that runs north and south along the east side.

There are three tunnels through the Koolau Mountains. The newest is the H3 tunnel with spectacular views of Kaneohe Bay. This has been called the most beautiful highway in America. As you come through the tunnels high above the coast, look for little Chinaman's Hat island on your left. This is the direction you'll be driving when you get down to earth.

Located 5 miles north of Kanoehe, Hawaii on picturesque Kaneohe Bay, Schrader's Inn shares Laenani Point with private residences and Laenani Beach Park.

It's situated next to Kahaluu Pond, an ancient Hawaiian fishpond where aquaculture was successfully practiced long before the coming of the white man.

Directions from Honolulu International Airport

  • Take the H1 freeway West towards Waianae, heading away from Honolulu
  • Take exit 13B North to Kaneohe on the new H3 freeway
  • H3 takes you across the island to the windward side
  • After you pass through the second tunnel take the exit for Kamehameha Hwy. [RT 83] Kaneohe heading North
  • On the northern end of Kaneohe town, you will find Windward Mall on your left, a Safeway Supermarket and Times Coffee Shop on your right. Keep going. You're on the right track.
  • Continue on Kamehameha Hwy. around Kaneohe Bay approximately 4 miles
  • Look for St. Johns Church on your right
  • Turn right just after the church onto Lihikai Drive
  • Continue down Lihikai Drive almost to the end
  • On your left will be Schrader's Windward Country Inn - a two-story building pictured here on our website
  • At 47-039 Lihikai Drive turn left into the driveway and down behind the first building
  • The office is located in back of the building across parking lot.
